New survey finds 73% of UK and Ireland fleet professionals see the value in software intelligence tools – but over half still rely on manual processes

Results of a new survey we conducted, reveals that fleet professionals across the UK and Ireland view advanced data consolidation through intelligence software as critical to driving operational success in the year ahead.
- 73% said fleet intelligence software will become invaluable for their data consolidation and management in 2026.
- Despite this, 57% of fleet management professionals continue to rely on manual data entry to consolidate key data.
- Only 14% said they use unified software that integrates data from third-party sources, highlighting the opportunity for data transformation in the industry.
“Fleet intelligence can give fleet management businesses the ability to gain deeper insights into their fleets through precise and in-depth data consolidation,” said Shane Mann, CEO.
While an overwhelming 73% of fleet professionals recognise that fleet intelligence software is critical to operational success and see the value in intelligence tools, more than half (57%) admit they still rely on outdated manual data entry methods to track essential performance data.
This contradiction highlights a sector caught between digital ambition and analogue reality – a costly blind spot in an era where data-driven decisions define competitive edge. While most professionals understand the strategic importance of data-driven fleet intelligence, many are still spending hours each month stitching together spreadsheets or manually tracking KPIs across multiple systems.
Only 14% said they use unified software that integrates data from third-party sources, highlighting the opportunity for digital transformation in the industry.
The survey of 50 fleet management companies further revealed that 70% believe a single, centralised interface connecting all third-party systems would dramatically improve their ability to report, respond and scale.
Our FleetNow platform, of Fleet Intelligence and Software Solutions, directly addresses this disconnect by transforming fragmented datasets to give you real-time, actionable insights, in areas from cost management, vehicle maintenance and driver compliance, and more.
Shane notes further, “the belief in the value of fleet intelligence is there – but action is lagging. That gap represents both a risk and a massive opportunity for forward-thinking operators to leap ahead.”
“Adopting innovative ways of consolidating data is now more important than ever. Embracing technology such as fleet intelligence can give fleet management businesses the ability to gain deeper insights into their fleets through precise and in-depth data consolidation.
Currently, a great number of fleet professionals spend hours each month manually pooling data across multiple disparate systems and spreadsheets. In many cases, this leads to a lack of real-time visibility and increased operational costs. Fleet professionals miss out on valuable insights that can help them optimise their fleet performance and improve decision-making.”
Methodology:
The survey of 50 fleet management professionals working for companies based in the UK and Ireland was conducted over a webinar hosted by Tranzaura in April of this year. The survey was conducted live during the session, capturing real-time feedback and insights from a diverse audience including fleet professionals, safety officers and technology specialists.
